C. THEIR ENTRANCE WOULD BE A GREAT WITNESS FOR GOD.
VI. THE PRIEST STAYED IN THE MIDST OF JORDAN WHILE ISRAEL PASSED THROUGH.1. Their triumphant entrance into the land was led by a miracle of God which all their enemies could see first hand.
2. Let me remind you that those who are unsaved are watching you.
3. If they see you face the world with confidence in God, you will be a great witness before them.
A. IT SHOWED THEIR FAITH IN GOD’S COMPLETION.
Philippians 1:6, “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:”
“As they made a bold step when they set the first foot into Jordan, so now they made a bold stand when they tarried longest in Jordan”
1. You say, “How do I know He’ll take care of me?”
2. Has he done so in the past? Then keep standing in the midst of the river.
B. IT SHOWED THAT THE PRESENCE OF JEHOVAH GOD WAS IN THE MIDST OF THE MIRACLE. (THE ARK)
1. In the midst of your trials, there stands God.
2. In the midst of your salvation, there stands God.
3. In the midst of your greatest victories, there stands God.
He giveth more grace as our burdens grow greater, He sendeth more strength as our labors increase;
To added afflictions He addeth His mercy, To multiplied trials he multiplies peace.
When we have exhausted our store of endurance, When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources our Father’s full giving is only begun.
His love has no limits, His grace has no measure, His power no boundary known unto men;
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus, He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.
